Meet Rhett Corker, Program Accountability Manager at the Movember Foundation. He’s working to change the face of men’s health by raising awareness and funds for prostate and testicular cancer and mental health.
Like many who work in the not-for-profit sector, Rhett wanted to continue developing his professional skills and improve his effectiveness, but many donors are reluctant to have their money spent on administration costs like Rhett’s training and development.
It’s widely accepted, however, that organisations with well-skilled people are better able to serve their communities. That’s why our Foundation has partnered with the Australian Scholarships Foundation to provide access to education and training for those working in the not-for-profit sector.
With our funding, Rhett attended the University of Melbourne’s Executive Decision Making & Negotiation course in June. He said “the course helped me fine-tune my experience in negotiating outcomes as well as build my awareness of effective decision making.”
Rhett is now applying the skills he learnt to ensure funds raised by the Mo Bros and Mo Sistas who participate in Movember are applied efficiently and provide fast and effective outcomes in the areas of men’s health.
